Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Head Of A Classical Youth Seen In Profile To The Right by Augustin Pajou was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,564.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustin Pajou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Amour dominateur des éléments in November last year with an auction result of EUR 314,880.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Head Of A Classical Youth Seen In Profile To The Right von Augustin Pajou im Juli 2007 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.564,55) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustin Pajou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Amour dominateur des éléments im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 314.880,00.
