This artwork by August Willem van Voorden achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in July 2000. In the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work A view of a harbour, Rotterdam sold for NLG 21,063.60 (€ 9,258.80) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by August Willem van Voorden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals, which sold at auction in May 2010 for EUR 27,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von August Willem van Voorden erzielte im Juli 2000 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings wurde die Arbeit A view of a harbour, Rotterdam für NLG 21.063,60 (€ 9.258,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von NLG 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für EUR 27.400,00 versteigert wurde.
