In June 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work A Polder Landscape Near Kortenhoef by August Willem van Voorden. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 7,637.50 (€ 3,670.94), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by August Willem van Voorden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals in May 2010 with an auction result of EUR 27,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Polder Landscape Near Kortenhoef von August Willem van Voorden zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 7.637,50 (€ 3.670,94) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.400,00.
