Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Sale, which included the work A Hunting Party At Rest With A Huntsman Caressing An Elegant Lady by August Querfurt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,155.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by August Querfurt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Turkish Siege Of Vienna in June 2012 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 63,545.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Hunting Party At Rest With A Huntsman Caressing An Elegant Lady von August Querfurt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.155,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von August Querfurt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Turkish Siege Of Vienna im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 63.545,94).
