Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A cavalry skirmish before a hilltop town; and A cavalry skirmish before a fortification (2) by August Querfurt was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,804.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August Querfurt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Turkish Siege Of Vienna in June 2012 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 63,545.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A cavalry skirmish before a hilltop town; and A cavalry skirmish before a fortification (2) von August Querfurt kam im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.100,00 (€ 5.804,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August Querfurt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Turkish Siege Of Vienna im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 63.545,94).
