A top price for August Kotzsch - as previously expected
In April 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Melone; and Schafherde by August Kotzsch. The price achieved of USD 1,762.50 (€ 1,939.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Melone; and Schafherde is the most expensive artwork by August Kotzsch that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im April 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Melone; and Schafherde von August Kotzsch zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.762,50 (€ 1.939,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Melone; and Schafherde das teuerste Kunstwerk von August Kotzsch, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
