This artwork by Aubrey Williams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Painting (Iv) sold for GBP 11,970.00 (€ 13,944.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Aubrey Williams; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Orinoco I sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,914.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Aubrey Williams erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Painting (Iv) für GBP 11.970,00 (€ 13.944,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Aubrey Williams; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Orinoco I im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.914,21).
