This artwork by Aubrey Williams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December 2020. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Guyana III sold for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,133.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Aubrey Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orinoco I in March last year with an auction result of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,914.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 87 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Aubrey Williams erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Guyana III für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.133,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aubrey Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orinoco I im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.914,21).
