This artwork by Atul Dodiya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2018. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Sabari Throwing Rings into the Chakki sold for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,870.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Atul Dodiya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Painters in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 541,000.00 (€ 380,476.83).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Atul Dodiya erzielte im März 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Sabari Throwing Rings into the Chakki für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.870,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Atul Dodiya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Painters im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 541.000,00 (€ 380.476,83).
