Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Onboard The SS Rajputana, 1931 by Atul Dodiya. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,680.00 (€ 23,183.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Atul Dodiya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Painters in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 541,000.00 (€ 380,476.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit Onboard The SS Rajputana, 1931 von Atul Dodiya zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.680,00 (€ 23.183,07) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Atul Dodiya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Painters im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 541.000,00 (€ 380.476,83).
