Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Landscape) by Arup Das. The price achieved of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,199.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arup Das - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Village), which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Landscape) von Arup Das zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.199,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arup Das mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Village) beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32) versteigert wurde.
