Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Sadhu With Dog) by Arup Das was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,635.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arup Das - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Village), which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Sadhu With Dog) von Arup Das wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.635,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Arup Das mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Village) beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32) versteigert wurde.
