Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Mahakala) by Arup Das was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,086.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Arup Das have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2019 the work Untitled (Village) was auctioned for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32).
