In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, which included the work The Marquis of Ailsa'S Schooner Lady Evelyn Off The Needles by Arthur Wellington Fowles. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,051.81), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Wellington Fowles have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Indian troopship Serapis arriving at Portsmouth, 11 May 1876, with H.R.H. The Prince of Wales aboard her on his return from India, and the Royal yacht Osborne following her in in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.051,81) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
