Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in Paris held the auction Agathe Gaillard et la photographie : Une pionnière à Paris, which included the work Boy In Flood Dream, 1971 by Arthur Tress. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,625.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Tress - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Presidential Cabinet (Portfolio), which sold at auction in November this year for USD 5,120.00 (€ 4,693.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Agathe Gaillard et la photographie : Une pionnière à Paris durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy In Flood Dream, 1971 von Arthur Tress zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.625,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Tress mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Presidential Cabinet (Portfolio) beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für USD 5.120,00 (€ 4.693,80) versteigert wurde.
