In March 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of An Edwardian Lady by Arthur Hacker. The auction ended at the price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,831.31), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hacker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musicienne du Silence in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 111,623.20).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of An Edwardian Lady von Arthur Hacker zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.831,31) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hacker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Musicienne du Silence im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 111.623,20).
