Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Orchard by Arthur Hacker was sold in the Victorian and Traditonalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 12,252.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Hacker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Musicienne du Silence in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 111,623.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Orchard von Arthur Hacker wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Victorian and Traditonalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 12.252,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Hacker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Musicienne du Silence im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 111.623,20).
