This artwork by Arthur Hacker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2008. In the Victorian and Traditionalist Pictures auction, the work Mrs R.E. Hoare sold for GBP 46,850.00 (€ 59,219.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arthur Hacker; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Musicienne du Silence sold at auction in June 2003 with the realized price of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 111,623.20).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Hacker erzielte im Juni 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian and Traditionalist Pictures wurde die Arbeit Mrs R.E. Hoare für GBP 46.850,00 (€ 59.219,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Arthur Hacker; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Musicienne du Silence im Juni 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 111.623,20).
