Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Long Island by Arthur Dove for USD 852,500.00 (€ 752,892.34). This price was achieved in the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Evening Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Arthur Dove have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,802,500.00 (€ 6,912,820.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Long Island von Arthur Dove für USD 852.500,00 (€ 752.892,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Evening Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Dove auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.802.500,00 (€ 6.912.820,06).
