Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Arthur Grimshaw achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September last year. In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Hull Docks by night sold for GBP 22,950.00 (€ 26,119.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Grimshaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Clapham Omnibus, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 62,400.00 (€ 92,665.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Grimshaw erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Hull Docks by night für GBP 22.950,00 (€ 26.119,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Grimshaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Clapham Omnibus beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 62.400,00 (€ 92.665,95) versteigert wurde.
