Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian Art, which included the work Dock Scene, Glasgow by Arthur Grimshaw. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,581.92). Admittedly, works by Arthur Grimshaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Clapham Omnibus in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 62,400.00 (€ 92,665.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dock Scene, Glasgow von Arthur Grimshaw zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.581,92) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Grimshaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Clapham Omnibus im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.400,00 (€ 92.665,95).
