Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Virginia Landscape) by Arshile Gorky was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 956,000.00 (€ 851,215.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 600,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arshile Gorky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charred Beloved I in November this year with an auction result of USD 23,410,000.00 (€ 21,461,312.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Virginia Landscape) von Arshile Gorky wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 956.000,00 (€ 851.215,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 1.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arshile Gorky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charred Beloved I im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.410.000,00 (€ 21.461.312,80).
