Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cymric Table Lamp, 1905 by Archibald Knox was sold in the Jacques Grange | Collectionneur auction at Sothebys in Paris in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 31,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Archibald Knox - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cymric Mirror, 1901, which sold at auction in November 2017 for EUR 75,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cymric Table Lamp, 1905 von Archibald Knox wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Jacques Grange | Collectionneur bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 31.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Archibald Knox mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cymric Mirror, 1901 beobachtet, die im November 2017 für EUR 75.000,00 versteigert wurde.
