Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Anwar Jalal Shemza. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,085.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anwar Jalal Shemza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Wall in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 231,250.00 (€ 199,749.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Anwar Jalal Shemza zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.085,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anwar Jalal Shemza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Wall im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 231.250,00 (€ 199.749,50).
