This artwork by Anwar Jalal Shemza achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Square Composition 4 sold for GBP 126,000.00 (€ 149,275.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 65,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anwar Jalal Shemza; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot City Wall sold at auction in September 2021 with the realized price of USD 231,250.00 (€ 199,749.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Anwar Jalal Shemza erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Square Composition 4 für GBP 126.000,00 (€ 149.275,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 65.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Anwar Jalal Shemza; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit City Wall im September 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 231.250,00 (€ 199.749,50).
