Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Blue Vase by Anwar Jalal Shemza. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 50,700.00 (€ 59,643.72). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anwar Jalal Shemza - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work City Wall, which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 231,250.00 (€ 199,749.50).
