Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Anwar Jalal Shemza achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May last year. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work The Orchard sold for GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,999.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anwar Jalal Shemza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Wall in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 231,250.00 (€ 199,749.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anwar Jalal Shemza erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit The Orchard für GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.999,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anwar Jalal Shemza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Wall im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 231.250,00 (€ 199.749,50).
