Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Diptych) by Anwar Jalal Shemza was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,927.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anwar Jalal Shemza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Wall in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 231,250.00 (€ 199,749.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Diptych) von Anwar Jalal Shemza wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.927,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anwar Jalal Shemza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Wall im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 231.250,00 (€ 199.749,50).
