Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Antonio Santin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in February 2017. In the New Now auction, the work salt is the new glitter sold for USD 75,000.00 (€ 70,634.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Santin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vox Populi, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 277,200.00 (€ 258,317.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Antonio Santin erzielte im Februar 2017 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit salt is the new glitter für USD 75.000,00 (€ 70.634,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Santin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vox Populi beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 277.200,00 (€ 258.317,03) versteigert wurde.
