Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The American steam yacht O-we-ra in the bay of Naples (illustrated); and The American steam yacht O-we-ra in heavy seas by Antonio de Simone. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,286.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio de Simone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The American steam yacht O-we-ra in the bay of Naples (illustrated); and The American steam yacht O-we-ra in heavy seas von Antonio de Simone zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.286,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio de Simone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.171,76) versteigert wurde.
