Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A steam yacht of the Royal Yacht Squadron in the Bay of Naples by Antonio de Simone. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 937.50 (€ 1,120.31), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Antonio de Simone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A steam yacht of the Royal Yacht Squadron in the Bay of Naples von Antonio de Simone zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 937,50 (€ 1.120,31) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antonio de Simone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.171,76).
