Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Antoine Vollon could be acquired at Christies in London in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work Still life of flowers and fruit changed hands for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,967.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antoine Vollon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French boats On An Estuary, which sold at auction in May 2013 for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,286.11).
