This artwork by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2004. In the Old Master Pictures and Drawings auction, the work Three Circus Horses At The Gallop, A Fourth Restrained By A Groom sold for EUR 2,151.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 124,674.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet erzielte im November 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Pictures and Drawings wurde die Arbeit Three Circus Horses At The Gallop, A Fourth Restrained By A Groom für EUR 2.151,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.200,00.
