In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work A Mameluk Leading His Horse sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 26,581.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 124,674.27).
