This artwork by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2015. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work A Mameluk Leading His Horse sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 26,581.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 124,674.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings wurde die Arbeit A Mameluk Leading His Horse für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 26.581,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 9.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 124.674,27).
