In December 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, which included the work CAPTAIN OF THE 7TH HUSSARDS, REGIMENT OF MR DE MARTOT by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,970.00 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 124,674.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit CAPTAIN OF THE 7TH HUSSARDS, REGIMENT OF MR DE MARTOT von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 11.970,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 124.674,27).
