Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At the Races by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet was auctioned at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,933.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 124,674.27).
