Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Satire On The English In Paris by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,195.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 124,674.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Satire On The English In Paris von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 18.195,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoine Charles Horace Vernet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Skirmish with the Cossacks during Napoleon's Russian Campaign of 1812 im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 124.674,27).
