Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A shipwreck on the Yorkshire coast by Copley Fielding was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 9,027.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Copley Fielding - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An extensive view of Greenwich, London, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 25,095.00 (€ 36,062.88).

Die Arbeit A shipwreck on the Yorkshire coast von Copley Fielding kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 9.027,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Copley Fielding mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An extensive view of Greenwich, London beobachtet, die im Juni 2003 für GBP 25.095,00 (€ 36.062,88) versteigert wurde.
