Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shakespeare's Cliff, Dover by Copley Fielding was auctioned at Christies in London in March last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,970.00 (€ 14,191.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Copley Fielding - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An extensive view of Greenwich, London, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 25,095.00 (€ 36,062.88).

Die Arbeit Shakespeare's Cliff, Dover von Copley Fielding kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.970,00 (€ 14.191,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Copley Fielding mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An extensive view of Greenwich, London beobachtet, die im Juni 2003 für GBP 25.095,00 (€ 36.062,88) versteigert wurde.
