The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,521.04), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Copley Fielding have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An extensive view of Greenwich, London in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 25,095.00 (€ 36,062.88).

Die Arbeit Cattle Grazing Beneath Ben Lomond von Copley Fielding wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion A Life's Devotion: The Collection of the Late Mrs T.S. Eliot bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.521,04) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Copley Fielding auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An extensive view of Greenwich, London im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.095,00 (€ 36.062,88).
