Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mending the Nets by Anthony Thieme was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2012. It achieved a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,124.34), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Anthony Thieme have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening Light on the Suwannee River in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 119,422.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mending the Nets von Anthony Thieme kam im März 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.124,34) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Thieme auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening Light on the Suwannee River im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 119.422,79).
