In July 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Construction 1963 by Anthony Hill. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,116.97), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Anthony Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Relief Construction, August - September 1959 in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,398.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Construction 1963 von Anthony Hill zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.116,97) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Hill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Relief Construction, August - September 1959 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.398,48).
