Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anthony Hill could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Composition 1950 changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,394.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anthony Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Relief Construction, August - September 1959 in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,398.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Anthony Hill konnte im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art wechselte die Arbeit Composition 1950 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.394,64) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Hill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Relief Construction, August - September 1959 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.398,48).
