Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Valley by Anthony Gross was sold in the British Printmaking auction at Christies in London in April 2007. The price achieved of GBP 384.00 (€ 562.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Gross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A large collection of etchings, circa 1955 to 1976, on wove and laid paper, each signed and titled in pencil, each with full margins, in varying conditions, most in excellent overall condition in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,380.46).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 384,00 (€ 562,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Gross erzielen.
