Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St. Dorothy by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,768.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British love'S Shadow in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 494,500.00 (€ 343,976.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit St. Dorothy von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.768,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British love'S Shadow im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 494.500,00 (€ 343.976,07).
