Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St. Dorothy by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,768.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British love'S Shadow in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 494,500.00 (€ 343,976.07).
