Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Washerwomen before a cottage by Anthony Devis for GBP 360.00 (€ 534.68). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Devis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,113.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Washerwomen before a cottage von Anthony Devis für GBP 360,00 (€ 534,68) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Devis erzielen.
