Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Travellers Resting Above The Coast by Anthony Devis was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in November 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 801.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Devis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,113.28).
