Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anthony Devis could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Sunday Picture Sale - British and Continental oils, auction, the work The hunting party beside a lake changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 348.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Devis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,113.28).
