Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Monolith, The Face Of Half Dome' by Ansel Adams was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2008. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,712.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).

Die Arbeit 'Monolith, The Face Of Half Dome' von Ansel Adams wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.712,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen.
