Sold at the upper estimate price
In March 2019 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Traits et Portraits : Une Collection Particulière, which included the work Study Of A Head, Possibly After The Antique by Annibale Carracci. The auction ended at the price of EUR 15,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Annibale Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna And Child With Saint Lucy And The Young Saint John The Baptist in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 6,063,500.00 (€ 5,438,604.36).
